Claudio Pennino, born in Naples in 1957, is a poet, writer, and passionate scholar of the Neapolitan language and tradition. Co-founder of the Campanian Linguistic Institute, he dedicates his life to the preservation, study, and dissemination of his homeland's dialect and literary heritage. With wit and scholarly rigor, his essays also explore folklore, popular insults, and anecdotes of married life. Winner of several literary awards, Pennino is today a leading figure in the preservation of Neapolitan cultural identity.
